Backpacking
Trek from one end of Cherokee National Forest to the other following the white blazes of Benton MacKaye Trail (BMT) and Appalachian National Scenic Trail (AT). Together these two trails form a continuous way through Cherokee National Forest and adjoining Great Smoky Mountains National Park.
Several backpacking section hikes or loop hikes can be created by by using networks of backcountry trails that encompass sections of the AT or BMT.
