PRESIDENT'S MESSAGE

Thank you for your interest in the Hiwassee Chapter 640 of Trout Unlimited.

Our Chapter is in southeastern Tennessee/ Polk county and our home watershed is the Hiwassee river located in the Cherokee National Forest. We are blessed to have such productive trout water within our territory. Our membership understands that with these fantastic resources comes the responsibility of protecting these watersheds and keeping them as sustainable assets to our communities and citizenry. Like much of eastern Tennessee our region has experienced tremendous growth over the last few decades and that growth will continue for the foreseeable future. Our challenge is to try to protect our trout streams in concert with this development. We do this through educational outreach, in-stream improvements, cooperation with various local watershed groups and local entities and most importantly an active and vital membership.

We thoroughly embrace the social significance of our membership and partners and welcome anyone who enjoys trout fishing and the outdoors to stop in for a visit at one of our monthly meetings or various social events. Please see the calendar section of this website for times and dates and feel free to bring a friend.

Again, thank you for taking the time to visit, hope to see you on the water.

Shane Boyd
